
After high school, he attended the Ontario College of Arts in the turbulent 1960’s, continuing his artistic training at the University of Western Ontario in London, and graduated from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University) in Montreal, Québec in 1972.
His various work experiences include graphic designer, residential painting and decorating, and then after gaining teaching qualifications, taught a broad spectrum of art and craft at high school, while continuing his own exploration of his artistic talent and exhibiting the results.
Leaving teaching behind, he enrolled in 1982 at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre school, as a set designer, in Bristol, England, followed by employment as a scenic painter at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Royal.
Returning to Toronto, he was employed with the Canadian Opera Company as a scenic painter from 1983 to 1988, and then as a scenic artist in the feature film business from 1988 to the present.
In 2006, he returned to his love of drawing and painting and has produced a mature body of work.
